Access Statement

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to our home based, three bedroom, bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our facilities. If you have any specific questions please telephone 01206 271110 and we will try to help you.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • The property is signposted at the end of the drive leading to the Barn.
  • There is ample car parking in front of the Barn and we are very happy to assist guests with their luggage. The area is flat gravel with no curbs or gradients.
  • At night lights automatically come on by the front door.
  • Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

  • There is a wide front door which accesses into the Hall and reception area. The floor is brick, relieved with oriental rugs.
  • There is a bell to summon assistance.
  • Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

  • One double and the twin room are on the ground floor, and the other double room is up a short flight of stairs with a hand rail on the left.
  • Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

  • The sitting area has fitted carpeting and is well populated with easy chairs, sofas and comfortable corners to relax. There is an open fireplace with a log burner.
  • Public WCs

  • All bedrooms are en-suite. The twin bedroom downstairs has a disabled access to the bathroom.
  • Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe

  • Breakfast is served in the dining area. There are no steps.
  • The rectangular table has underspace 59 cms high and a leg at each corner. Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request. There are chairs with and without arms.
  • We do not play background music.
  • Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

  • All bedrooms are en-suite, with a secure lockable door. Carpets are all fitted, short pile, with specialist non-slip flooring in the en-suites. The Barn is under-floor heated throughout with individual thermostats in every room.
  • There is a television in each room, together with tea/coffee facilities and a hair dryer.
  • The double bedroom downstairs has a shower, but no bath.
  • The double bedroom upstairs has both a bath and a shower, as has the twin bedroom downstairs.
  • The beds in the twin room can be put together.
  • Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [En-suite or Shared]

  • The twin bedded room on the ground floor has an en-suite with an outward opening door 80cms wide.
  • The shower cubicle has a step/edge of 23cms.
  • The bath edge is 57 cms high and it has hand rails on both sides.
  • The basin is 87cms high and has underspace of 18cms.
  • The lavatory has free space of 25cms on either side and is 42 cms high.
  • Grounds and Gardens

  • Guests are welcome to explore the garden which is accessible from the dining area via a small (10cms) step down. The alternative route for wheelchair users is slightly longer round the gravel front of the Barn.
  • Additional Information

  • Assistance dogs are welcomed by prior arrangement.
  • We are a non smoking house.
  • We are happy to take sterling, euros or a personal cheque with a bank card. We regret we are unable to take credit cards.

    Hours of operation:

    Arrival: 16:00 to 19:00 hours.
